AMD splits, Intel falls over

AMD has been revived by this foundry split and influx of cash. Argue the source all you want, but the regulators will let the deal go through and AMD will now have long money to back them up and a renewed focus on research and development. AMD is about to deliver the technology goods in a big way. The significance of them producing a complete PC platform from top to bottom (CPU, Mainboard, Chipset, graphics) cannot be underestimated. For the first time in their existence, AMD now has the financial backing to kick some serious butt. Intel and NV are both in serious trouble. Glad I switched to the AMD platform now. My next notebook will be on the AMD Spider platform too.

Despite a massive effort over the past 18 months by Intel to sink AMD it appears they excaped ... in a couple of smaller life rafts. The Nomads have finally bought into tech in a big way. That can't be good for the US ... I hope they keep the lawyers fed ... that Intel antitrust suite must surely be going to hit oil soon ... heh heh. Then watch Intel get its ass dragged up and down the street. Alternatively they could settle ... a couple of Billion seems about right.

i tryed intel.com on firefox and i got the same error. but when u allow scripts on intel.com, the error will not appear and the page will display correctly. so, there;s your trick: no script extension

That error is from Akamai. I know, we use Akamai at work too. I wouldn't read too much into it (other than Akamai just sucks).

Did you try permiting intel.com on your NoScript Firefox plugin and then reloading the page? LOL'ed @ The Inquirer once more. PS: Your page is so full of ads I had to use IE to post this... Webpage incompatible with Firefox and NoScript? LOL'ed @ you again...

I think the anti trust thing could be great if it works in AMDs favour. But it sounds like Intels going to string it out in the courts till AMD dies and or runs out of money in court. I'd like to know if there's anything new happening in that case if someone knows???

I tried intel.com on IE7 and I got the same error. So I guess there is something wrong with intel.com

I just worked out what their name means, and why they are called it. Akamai = I am aka, I am also known as. A good name for what they do. Some of you will have learned this years ago, others will have learned this from me. Go me! ;-)

I updated my adobe flash player and the error went away.

Guess what, AMD got hammered today despite the rescue. The traders at Wall Street must know something? And there's nothing wrong with Intel.com. Doh!
