ONLY ONE PERT CENT of Brits think of God as female while 62 per cent think She is male, an online survey suggests.
What sex the rest of us think God is isn't entirely clear.
Virtually half - 49 per cent - of the 1,050 adults polled think all religions, "fundamentally discriminate on grounds of gender,'' while 56 per cent think all religions discriminate on grounds of sexual orientation.
And 29 per cent reckon religion has no place in modern life at all, the poll commissioned by the Movement for Reform Judaism in Britain suggested.
As a result of the research, the organisation edited its prayer book to make references to the Omnipotent One "gender neutral''. µ

If the monotheistic god has a gender it's to procreate and if it/he/she did that he/she/it would need a partner and would be led by hormones, both of which isn't very godly/monotheistic to monotheist I imagine.So in answer to your puzzlement: the ones saying neither male or female are the ones assuming a god doesn't have a gender, being a god and all.

I'm firmly against religion in most forms to be honest but being educated in Roman Catholic schools means that I was exposed to quite a bit of bible bashing.In this instance, Jesus who is the son of God blatently said that God is his FATHER. Now, that to me doesn't leave a lot of room for error unless all the feminists out there take father to mean mother but that's a stretch even for the feminists.

Supposedly, god is almighty & can do anything.God additionally is perfect, because god cannot be flawed. If god was flawed god could make mistakes. But god is perfect and cannot make mistakes.
As such, being male is very limiting. Since Adam was created in god's shadow, so to speak. God cannot truly be male.
If god WAS male he would have to piss, shit & all those other mortal things.
Considering there is not a single reference in any holy book I know that speaks of god in such mortal terms one must conclude that; speaking of god as a "father" is more symbolic than actually hereditary.
Additionally god created the earth, the heavens etc, created Adam and Eve and the garden of Eden and all that stuff...he didn't give birth or sired any of those.
As such it is my belief that the god thesis refers to the existence of a father figure god that does not have sex.
But the same could be true to Duke Nukem, with the exception that despite not existing many people have actually seen Duke.

If God were a bloke then there logically would be a female counterpart. Since Judaeo-Christianism and Islam are monotheistic God is not a bloke.He probably thinks like a bloke though hehe

So 29% of a population are going to tell what they think to the other 71% of this population?These day's it's always a minority telling other people what to do, and the majority just agreeing in the end.
Though this seemed like a stupid survey anyway. Everyone knows that the so called god being mentioned here (the monkey from "Monkey magic") is a male. Though he ain't my god.
