Build your own Yahoo resignation

Farewell Jerry, we hardly knew thee

IT WILL NOT HAVE escaped your notice that quite a few senior figures have resigned from Yahoo over the past couple of weeks.

Founders from Flickr and Delicious, VPs, EVPs and SVPs from across the board have all been jumping ship as Jerry Yang rearranges the deckchairs on the Titanic.

The general consensus in Silicon Valley is that plenty of rank-and-file Yahoos are looking for a way out as well, if only they could find decent jobs to head to. Indeed, Digg.com founder Kevin Rose recently remarked on popular tech podcast This Week In Tech that his company, based in central San Francisco and funded to the tune of megabucks by Greylock Partners, was being inundated by resumes from cubicles in the Valley.

Well for those who have found happiness in a new place, or who just want to indulge in some wishful thinking, we present to you the Yahoo Resignator. Situated right here (Parental Advisory, Strong Language), it's a handy tool for composing your own customised Yahoo resignation letter with the minimum of hassle and maximum of amusement.

Refrains from the template include the eloquent "As you know, for some time now I have been desiring: more time with my family / a more challenging position / you guys to quit destroying my net worth and thus I feel the time has finally arrived for me to move on / take a new direction / tell you to go **** yourself ".

Who said Yahoo employees are lacking in motivation? µ

I sent one

Of course I don't have an job there, nor did I ever, but I couldn't resist. I chose all the most negative terms available and sent it off to mister Yang with the title, "Get Bent Asshat".

I may sleep with a more vigorous chuckle tonight. ;)
