KINGSTON TECHNOLOGY SAYS its ValueRAM DDR3 small outline dual-inline memory modules (SO-DIMMs) have now passed Intel validation. This means the products will soon be released with Intel Centrino 2 processor technology.

According to the firm, its new ValueRAM PC3-8500 SO-DIMMs will go some way to increasing bandwidth and lowering power consumption for next-generation notebook computers.

Marc Bernier, European research and development engineer for Kingston noted "Many of our motherboard partners, including ASUS, MSI and Gigabyte, have released XMP-ready offerings that can take immediate advantage of HyperX XMP-certified memory on current X38 and X48 platforms. We expect this also to be true for the soon to be released P45 chipsets."

The company press release also notes that the XMP profile allows for easy overclocking selection through predefined profiles in the BIOS or manual adjustment of Kingston HyperX XMP modules’ frequency and timings. µ
