OCZ licenses Fatal1ty mug
You'd be a mug to buy it
IN A FIT OF startling originality, silicon purveyors OCZ are marketing a new line of gaming products - using the smug mug of Jonathan 'Fatal1ty' Wendell.
Yes, the face that launched a thousand mediocre gaming tie-ins is coming to system RAM and power supplies, adding to the list of headphones, mice, motherboards, graphics cards and miscellaneous dongles carrying the visage of the blond bombshell.
“We are pleased to partner with Fatal1ty as we are both dedicated to delivering premium gaming solutions,” commented Ryan Petersen, CEO, OCZ Technology Group.
Translation: we desperately need a new way to appeal to gamers and pulling money from their tiny fists, and since everyone else is licensing this dude, we will too.
“I am really excited about OCZ coming on board as the latest Fatal1ty licensed partner,” says Johnathan “Fatal1ty” Wendel. “Their reputation for superior quality and advanced technology makes them an ideal partner to develop Fatal1ty Brand memory and power supply products.”
Translation: I love the fact these suckers are going to pay through the nose for my name on a box. Where's the lube?
What exactly gamers require from memory and power supplies isn't clear. Presumably they need them to work like the rest of us? Given that OCZ already makes plenty of decent 'enthusiast' products, we are rather taken to assume that these will be the same things with a coat of red paint. Ho hum. µ

Oversell
Too much, he's diluting his brand now to become nothing but off-tasting water.Bleh
God I hope they put his mug on the low - mid range stuff and not the really high end stuff, otherwise I'll lose all respect for OCZ and stop buying their nicer components.lol
I will no longer buy OCZ stuff.Rocketboy is way better (and not a sell out)
well..
Fatal1ty; the definition of exclusivity. I'm surprised OCZ would actually make a move like this. As if putting cammo patterns on heatspreaders wasn't enough already...
