IN CASE you haven't seen the picture of the day linked right at the site header, the INQUIRER can be easily accessed from web-enabled mobile phones with predictably tiny screens by using the services of Mippin.com. Find the link over here.
As the happy owner of a Palm Centro smartphone -you will read the First INQpressions here soon - we soon found the limitations of the Centro's Blazer web browser: PC-optimized sites navigating requires a lot of scrolling. The INQ site was no exception, not making very good use of screen real state when rendered by the Blazer Mobile browser.
Well suffer no more. Just load mippin.com/theinquirer on the Blazer web browser and you're done. You can also create a bookmark for it for easy access. With these pictures you can compare and contrast the looks of the regular web page renderer on Blazer vs. the Mobile-optimised version, courtesy of Mippin.com.
This makes one wonder why can't Blazer include a built-in RSS reader so when it detects that the web page loaded offers a RSS feed, it could offer the user the option - or do it automagically - of loading the RSS feed, building an optimised version of the page in the process like Mippin.com does.... hey there Access, you have a business opportunity for a partnership. No, I'm not holding my breath waiting for it to happen. In the meantime, using Mippin.com on the Centro is the next best thing to installing Opera Mini.
Trust us, the Mobile INQ site through Mippin.com totally rocks. We're completely unbiased when it comes to ourselves. µ
