Eee brand expands to motherboards

Baby PCs need a mother too

ASUS IS PLANNING to add motherboards to its Eee brand of products by the first quarter of next year.

According to DodgyTimes’ Taiwanese industry sources, the little Eeeeee, Eeeeee Box, Eeeeee Top all-in-one PC and Eeeeee TV will soon no longer be a mother(board)less family unit, expanding the Eeeee brand beyond complete computer systems.

It is probably fair to assume that these new and eeeeexciting motherboards will be aimed at the lower end of the market.

Sources also reckon that the all-singing, all-dancing Eeeee Top monitor will make its debut in two different sizes of screen, a 16-inch and 19-inch, with the cheapest model starting at about $450.

On a separate but related note, DodgyTimes also reported that after a batch of virus infected Eee Box systems shipped in Japan, Asus has investigated matters, coming to the conclusion that the virus came down to a dodgy USB drive used for testing.

Eeeek! µ
